McCarthy has an excellent vision for jobs and the economy in this state. Those of us in organized labor look forward to working closely with him in the upcoming session. With great companies like Principal and Wells Fargo needing taxpayer support and the election of a new president with bold vision similar to McCarthy's, workers, legislators and employers can link arms as we tackle tough problems with a new approach. It is time to work together and this Representative can facilitate a healthy partnership between ordinary Iowans and the companies that employ them. Rep. I am a non-smoker! I belive the only fair way to get this act passed is to allow all establisments that sell cigarettes to have their patrons be able to smoke in their establishment! If people know that cigarettes are sold at a certain establishment and they still like to go there they have a choice in going to that place. I am a dart player, banning smoking from bars will take dart and pool players out of the bars. We go to the bars because we like the games and the comrodery. We do not go just to drink and smoke cigarettes. Where can dart and pool players go in the winter time to play darts or pool if they smoke? Doesn't seem fair does it? Like I said I fully back this bill and am a non-smoker! But you can not take the people away from their lives outside of work and their home just because they smoke! So my suggestion is: The full ban of public smoking in all areas, execpt casinos, veterans establishments, and anywhere cigarettes are sold! Mr. McCarthy,
